Is singer sewing machine 8280 good?

I use the old black singer from way back, someone was throwing it out, and I can sew so beautiful, unless you have a line of people around the block thats needs something sewn everyday for the rest of your life, you are wasting your money, people do not pay for the brand of sewing machine you use to get the job done, I would outsew you regardless of what you pay for machine, for that kind of money the machine better sew by itself
