What to do about broken garage door?

I have a 2 car garage in this house im renting. Problem is, the roommate has dibs on the working garage door, Leaving me to park under the trees in my driveway. Besides getting it fixed, what are my options? I was thinking I would remove the door, and d some sort of material across the entrance that i could drive though. My prelude has been lowered so i could hang it pretty low. What kinds of material would work? suggestions? comments? help???
