Not getting power i want from subs. suggestions?

2 kicker comp vr 10's. 2 sony xplod 12's. 1 MA 12. boss 2000 watt 4 channel amp. stock head unit. its hittin but not as hard as i would like. how much difference will an aftermarket head unit make? im looking at a jvc that puts out 52 watts on each channel. will it really make that much of a difference? if you have some smart *** remark dont even bother. im looking for suggestions, nothing else.
