PUBLiSHiNG!!!!!!! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEze HELP!!???

I have an unsolicited novel-length story. How do I go about getting it published? I have never published anything before. I know that I need to get a copywrite, but other than that, I'm lost. I know that it will be near imposible to even get it through a publisher's door. I really want this to work. Hints? Tips? Anything?
