Will Futurama take place in the present?

From the animated series, Futurama, I have a feeling that it will take place in the present because in Benders Big score, which was their most recent production, the rip the space time continuum and i ume that it will take place in the present, like 2000. Im not sure, i highly doubt this, but so far, they have put almost every single detail into all episodes/movies and they intertwine i guess?
