World War Two Aircraft?

I have to make a world war two aircraft from household materials (like paper mache) and i was wondering of characteristics for it. For example: my brother told me that there was some type of writing that went around the nosecone. What type of writing? Also, if you could tell me anything else that you know, or if you have any good pictures, could you give me the link? Thanks sooo much!!!!
